Outreach Ministry Opportunity

Outreach Ministry April 2020– Image 1 of 6

In our desire for Westgate to be more outwardly focused, the Outreach Team and church leadership have been considering ways in which we can support the Metrowest community during the outbreak.

After contacting the towns of Weston and Natick and some area hospitals, we decided that our initial focus will be on the medical community who, in the face of great personal risk, show up day after day to wage war against the virus.

We wish to demonstrate our gratitude and show the love of Christ by purchasing meals from a local restaurant to feed our local healthcare heroes while they are on shift.  The meals will have an encouraging note attached.

We hope you will consider donating to a special fund we have established for this purpose.  If you would like to contribute, you can mail a check made out to Westgate Church.  Be sure to write "COVID Outreach Fund" in the memo line.  You can also give through PayPal on the church website, but you should email Christina Abel and inform her of the amount that you want designated to the fund.

Our first meal, for 50-100 people, will be delivered to Newton-Wellesley Hospital on Monday, April 27.  We hope to do this several times in the coming weeks.  While providing meals is the current focus, if needs change we will use any surplus funds to meet other outreach opportunities related to COVID-19.  We will continue to meet individuals’ personal needs through the Special Needs Fund.  A gift to either fund is tax deductible.

Please contact Luke Halberstadt (luke.halberstadt @ gmail.com) if you have any questions.  And, remember to pray for our first line providers and for an end to the crisis.

Blessings,

Pastors Bruce Daggett and Travis Vaclavik
