6th – 12th GRADE | NEW CITY CATECHISM
Location:  Senior High Room (Upstairs)
Leaders: Eric Campos, Stephen Demers, Daniel Lawry

Throughout history Christians have diligently worked towards understanding the things of God (Col 3:2). In those efforts, Christians—at critical points in church history—labored to articulate “sound doctrine” (Titus 2:1). For, as Paul knew, it’s important to articulate our faith so as not to be “tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine” (Eph 4:14). The New City Catechism is a  modern way of succinctly presenting the essential doctrines of our faith in a memorable question-and-answer format. It is meant not only to challenge and encourage students intellectually, but is meant also to edify and uplift the student as well. As the scholar John Frame rightly states, “[good] theology is the application of the Word of God by persons to all areas of life.” As we study the NCC, our aim isn’t simply to commit things to memory, but to consider how sound doctrine has an impact on our lives.

3rd – 5th GRADE | IN THE BEGINNING...JESUS: A CHRONOLOGICAL STUDY FOR CHILDREN OF REDEMPTIVE HISTORY
Location:  Room 105B
Leader: Scotty Jarrett & Steve S.

The Bible is one complete true story that progressively reveals God's redemptive plan, which comes to complete fulfillment in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. In the Beginning...Jesus begins with a historical mystery—Jesus' death on the cross—and asks the questions: "What really happened here?" "Why did Jesus die?" and "Who did it?" To find the answers to these questions, the study goes to the beginning of the Bible narrative in Genesis and then moves chronologically through the Old Testament text as students search for clues that foreshadow the coming of Jesus and His redemptive work on the cross. Special emphasis is given to showing that the Bible is God's story from beginning to end and that Jesus is the key to understanding the story.

K – 2nd GRADE | THE ABCS OF GOD: A STUDY FOR CHILDREN ON THE GREATNESS AND WORTH OF GOD
Location:  Room 107
Leader: Sandra Lawry & Amy Tsao

Right thinking about God is essential for the life of faith. Using the alphabet as a framework for teaching the attributes of God, this study explores the delight that God has in Himself as the source, means, and purpose of all things. Each lesson asks and answers three key questions, "Who is God?" "What is He like?" and "How should I act toward Him?" as it presents a theology.
