6th – 12th GRADE | LIFE WITH GOD
Location: Senior High Room (Upstairs)
Leaders: Eric Campos, Daniel Lawry, Steve Demers
As we pursue the Christian life, there are two ditches to avoid: on the one hand, there is the mistake of reducing our faith into rule-keeping, where we try to earn salvation by our own efforts (i.e., legalism). On the other hand, there is the mistake of reducing our faith to something petty, where we affirm the Gospel with correct statements, but we really live how we want because “I’m forgiven anyway (i.e., antinomianism).” Neither of these are what God intends for us. In this Life with God class, we will answer the question: “What does a Christian do?” We will see that the Gospel provides our motivation, means, and goal of our lives. We will cover everything from evangelism and sabbath to fasting and discipleship, to learn what Life with God looks like.
3rd – 5th GRADE | IN THE BEGINNING...JESUS: A CHRONOLOGICAL STUDY FOR CHILDREN OF REDEMPTIVE HISTORY
Location: Room 105B
Leader: Scotty Jarrett & Steve S.
The Bible is one complete true story that progressively reveals God's redemptive plan, which comes to complete fulfillment in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. In the Beginning...Jesus begins with a historical mystery—Jesus' death on the cross—and asks the questions: "What really happened here?" "Why did Jesus die?" and "Who did it?" To find the answers to these questions, the study goes to the beginning of the Bible narrative in Genesis and then moves chronologically through the Old Testament text as students search for clues that foreshadow the coming of Jesus and His redemptive work on the cross. Special emphasis is given to showing that the Bible is God's story from beginning to end and that Jesus is the key to understanding the story.
K – 2nd GRADE | THE ABCS OF GOD: A STUDY FOR CHILDREN ON THE GREATNESS AND WORTH OF GOD
Location: Room 107
Leader: Sandra Lawry & Amy Tsao
Right thinking about God is essential for the life of faith. Using the alphabet as a framework for teaching the attributes of God, this study explores the delight that God has in Himself as the source, means, and purpose of all things. Each lesson asks and answers three key questions, "Who is God?" "What is He like?" and "How should I act toward Him?" as it presents a theology.
