Easter is the celebation of what God has done to deliver us from sin and death and give us new life through the crucifixion and resurrection of his Son, Jesus. It's a celebration of history; Jesus Christ is truly risen (Matthew 28:1-15). It's a celebration of hope; all who belong to Christ will be raised like him in the end (John 5:25-28). But more than history or hope for the future, the resurrection of Christ is also a present reality that has the power to change everything.
"If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." (Colossians 3:1-4)
