Alexander and Lee Anne Galanes are going out under Young
Life International (a 2 year commitment; then an evaluation) ministering
to adolescents, working closely with the Romanian Orthodox Church in
the town of Lupeni, Romania, with the Viata Program.
Young Life's mission is "for every kid, everywhere
to experience the message of hope of Jesus Christ."
Prayer Requests:

That we can glorify God in thought, word, and deed
here...
-
That our Bible Study continues to grow in quality
and quantity (our worship leader was just conscripted to the Army)
-
Deepening our relationships with kids here, that
they would continue to respond to our love (and the love of our
staff) and our message of God's love for them....Also, that we would
find creative ways to teach and communicate with them (we recently
translated Gloria Evans' gospel parable "The Wall" for
the kids in our Kaizen Club--we are thankful that it sparked meaningful
discussion and new understanding)

More meaningful connections at church, deeper relationships
there, meaningful connection between our work and a youth outreach
from the church--we have yet to see or hear of any youth groups
in in this region

That God would protect and grow our marriage, our
friendships with the staff, and our relationships with family and
friends at home
-
Continued language acquisition

Friendships here with the staff - we work with some
very neat Romanians.

We love being with the kids (both Lee Anne and I
previously had office jobs and did not have much exposure to youth)
