FAQs: FAITH Homeschool Group

Our group started in 2004 with 6 families and 17 kids and has grown to 33 families and 85 kids registered.

Homeschooling families from the Boston Metrowest Suburbs of Weston, Natick, Framingham, Wellesley, Newton, Needham and Wayland are all part of this growing group. The goal of the group is to provide Cooperative Education, Christian fellowship, and social development for families engaged in home education as well as to provide opportunities for encouragement and fellowship for moms.

What types of programs and events would I expect to be involved with in the FAITH Homeschool Group?

As a Co-op, we join together to offer twenty weeks of classes per year for K-8th grade. High school classes are offered ~30 weeks. We strive to choose classes that are better done in group settings and/or are desired by the members. In previous years, we have organized art classes, field trips to museums, science and geography fairs and drama productions. We also have an annual Christmas recital and an annual field day. Moms’ fellowships, scheduled several evenings a year, are an integral part of our group as this is special time for us to learn from one another and encourage each other.

When and where do you meet?

Our group meets Fridays from 9 am - 2 pm, Sept through May at Westgate Church in Weston.

9:00 am -12:00 pm  Cooperative Ed time
12:00 pm -  2:00 pm  Lunch, Recess, Optional classes

What age children are involved?

Cooperative classes are available for children between Kindergarten and 12th grades, but all children from birth to 18 years old are welcome. Preschool is provided for kids who have older siblings participating in the program.

Do I need to stay with the children during the meetings?

Yes. This is an opportunity to meet other homeschooling parents, to network, and to get information on homeschooling in the MetroWest suburbs of Boston.
