Missions - Short Term Opportunities
The elders feel that a short-term missions experience is of prime importance for every able member and attendee at Westgate Church. In recent years, teams have traveled to Haiti to continue with church construction and youth outreach. Another team went to Washington DC to do a VBS outreach. One of our members and our senior pastor began a new effort to train church planters in Thailand in conjunction with the EV Free Mission, and another member is involved in teaching with our missionary Rich Forsen in the Bible Schools in Romania. During the summer of 2010, our youth group went to the Dominican Republic to lead a VBS at two churches and to pour concrete floors in two small homes. And in the summer of 2011, our youth went to Alabama to help with tornado recovery efforts. This year, we have a team heading to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to work with several orphanages and to do a VBS at a local church.
Team members are required to contribute from personal finances, as well as to experience the joy of "raising support financially and prayerfully" from friends and relatives. The membership of Westgate also participates financially and prayerfully in support of those going out. Team members are enriched and missions is enhanced through these experiences.
There is a particular need for team leaders. Please contact us if you are interested in helping organize a foreign or domestic trip, or traveling as a team member.

Our families come from many of the surrounding towns in the MetroWest area.
